as we move into a new year, again start the cogs of labels and artists around the world, this is certainly the case for disc over music as they bring us their first release of 2015. high off the back of exquisite releases in 2014 from luca lozano & mr. ho and nicson, disc over’s first installment of 2015 comes from label head tim green - a three track ep bursting with two classic tg productions and grooves which is then given another dimension with a remix from the talented german born producer borrowed identity. the ep kicks off with the aptly named ‘scar’ - a track which when heard, truly makes it mark. it sets the tone for the rest of the ep with it’s prominent bassline and haunting howls whilst dreamlike keys bounce and float above. track two, ‘we thought’ is taken down a gear but keeps all of the groove built from ‘scar’. it begins with a simple trademark tg bassline and is allied with light and free singular keys. the listener is then joined by vocals which along with the previous elements take you on a real trip. borrowed identity speeds things up right away with his remix of ‘we thought’. the track is morphed into a dancefloor groove with the comforting vocals darkened, cut and reworked on top of an unpredictable and fluctuating bassline. managing to keep the identity of tim’s original the track becomes something completely different and certainly makes you feel you want to take the trip

the new sagat is truly emotional: the drums are neat and the sounds are warm. tight groovy rhythms travelling within layers of the deepest dark dub without sounding evident or tried. familiar but new. precise funk made of techno frequencies. reverb and delays that bring butter to your ears: melting the earth onto your body. *melt* is a body: it has a rhythmic pattern and synths that pop up like a breathing living organism. *earth* is the landscape: you can visualize it. *organs* is your brain thinking about a better dance world and *body* is what is left to dance in the way old gescom vynils used to.

yahshu is seeking something he has never heard before, bringing influences into his work from a huge spectrum. created using a combination of live strings, samples and synths, the three tracks on somebody elses dream invite the listener to witness a conversation of sound, as if one sound was asking a question and another answering it. what that conversation is, well let the listener decide. the ep was originally written 10 years ago but has since been developed and refined, finally coming to life through rysunku. yahshu is also the founder of rysunku. somebody elses dream is the first release on the label. rysunku releases innovative sound work in very limited numbered vinyl editions. somebody elses dream artwork by artist connie prantera and design by renowned art collec- tive tomato

rekord 61s first release of 2015 is the strident *sverh* on his own konstruktiv imprint, backed with 3 remixes from radio slave.
radio slaves f.y.n remix 1 draws on the essence of daniel bell, combining a sparse drum track with occasional *sverh* vocal while f.y.n remix 2 kills the kicks completely and favours saturated bleeps and ominous atmospherics. f.y.n remix 3 continues the distorted motif but pairs it with pin sharp and powerful drums. a release that is sure to be deployed in multiple variants due to its jigsaw-like aesthetics.

after three years of irregular visibility but strong pulsations generated by steaua de mare and the great disclosure of rodion g.a., future nuggets unveils its second compilation sounds of the unheard from romania.

where -oh year- takes you more to the funky side, -dayrun- is a more techno influenced trip to the dephts of the night. with the hypnotic synths and wobbly bassline it invites you to loose yourself in the dance. on the other side, the detroitesque strings, that glimpse up during the break and the pushing hihats, it leaves you with a smile and your hands in the air. to complete this fabulous ep, markus throws in some percussion and extra deep basslines on -pingel pangel snop-. a track that is filled up with funk & soul, designed to be nothing but a house track with a twinkle in one s eye. a true groove monster.

the a1 was never a big surprise. mattias fridell s consumed for profit was one of the tracks of the year, and surely fridell s personal best track, and was played by anyone who at least plays a bit of techno in their sets. the usual fridell quality of standard and a tight synth line! a2 sees french artist electric rescue s quarries in the a. mochi remix. a peak-time banger, slapping the synth stabs right into your face. this one always gets the floor jumping. the b-side kicks off with label-head advance human s pure , stripping things down to some essential moody but slamming techno, right up there amongst his best productions. b2 has +platform s mosses closing things off, and as we came to know and love from +platform, it s out there, dubby and dreamy techno, born for those deeper berghainesque floors.

secretsundaze return with ss016 - dj qus mighty ss1 ep. secretsundaze and qu have developed a special relationship with him playing at many of their parties in london but also at their events in the likes of new york, berlin and barcelona. a full 3 track ep on a label outside of his own strength music is rare for dj qu so its serious coup for secretsundaze.

initially alfonso muskedunder was just the nickname for my newborn son alf, but the character soon started leading it s own life. interpreted for this single by a bunch of good people, such as deetron (jazzy-ish housey-ish), bullion (main vocal funky latin house mix... or not. it s vocal though), mungolian jetset (acid mambo deep in the forest, quattro formaggio pizza style) and the mysterious tangoterje (dub mambo especial), the icing on the cake finally came in the form of a fully animated music video courtesy of bendik kaltenborn and espen friberg. kind of tricky to explain exactly what goes on in that one, guess you have to see for yourself...

as the popularity of footwork has continued to soar, the range of sounds within the genre has expanded. from the angular, minimal beats of rp boo to the widely admired sound of sadly departed dj rashad, the genre has lovingly seeped into hearts and feet worldwide whilst continuing to innovate. until now most of the focus has been on the male dj/producers, but that is about to change. gary based producer jlin, who some of you might remember for her track *erotic heat* (bangs and works vol.2 – planet mu 2011), or from her moment in the mainstream light providing music for fashion designer rick owens f/w 14 paris runway show, is stepping further into the light with a stunning eleven track debut album *dark energy* showcasing her unique and bold new sound.

thomas goertz returns with a massive 5 tracker! this time under his new moniker dendren on his interesting imprint untangle.

strategy aka paul dickow is back on idle hands for an lp following last years *return from the stars* 12 inch. *seeds of paradise* finds strategy boldly firing experimental electronics and dub back into outer space. like his work for zam zam, kranky and his own community library label, this latest outing from the portland-based producer nestles deftly between roots influence and sci-fi leanings. the result is a glistening 40 minutes of sonic exploration, never simplistic but never obtuse, which will sit happily on the turntables of sofa loungers and adventurous djs alike.

argentina has a rich history when it comes to dance music and gonzalo solimano is one of the countrys finest electronic flag-bearers. with his unlock recordings imprint he has created a heavy back-catalogue that the likes of barem, guti, luca m and daniel sanchez have all contributed to. after a short break solimano is back with his *factor h* ep and the original mix is a tropical, cow bell laden treat, one that sums up the nation’s sound nicely. on remix duty is both fase and fellow argentinian maestro guti. the producers last full-length was the jazz-inspired *rompecorazones* and now a remix lp is set to follow but here we focus on his amazing edit of *factor h*. guti has maintained the percussive elements of the original but added a significant amount of groove and focused on adding in thick kick drums and more drive. it is one you can imagine on the terraces or at 4am in a darkened room and this is why guti is such a don. pressing on green marbled vinyl)

master londons joseph russel signs for funkdriven quirky chicago techno but a 1, drums of lagos, stands out of many. what starts like a sturdy minimalist drum and snare pattern monotrack turns inti a discotech monster all at once and seemingly oout of almost nowhere. and once the surprise swingbreak of the track gets you hooked there no stopping.

following a wide-ranging series of collaborations from duck sauces disco romp quack to the genre twisting low pros project with lex luger, *push* announces a new chapter of solo material from dj hero a-trak. timeless but still timely, *push* melds festival-tested power with anthemic, emotional synth pop (courtesy vocalist andrew wyatt of miike snow fame), resulting in one of this years most unforgettable tunes. limited pressing on white vinyl.

our moscow b-boy, vinyl freak and outstanding dj lay-far is back with his second ep of secret weapons on basic fingers. secret weapons vol.2 has something for everyone, covering a vast variation of styles ranging from disco (groove), soul-fusion (bolinas), jazz-funk (bouncy lady) and dub (south african crossfire). all very tasty and dj friendly but most important they re all touched by the magic fingers from lay-far.

only one listen to the crystal clear rapture in the sound of bodhi shows the funk influenced take on dance music this young duo have to offer. olly howells and luke welsby started producing together 2 years ago but ever since they kept on capturing the right attention. therefore it is no surprise that exploited picked them up to release three uplifting, warm and modern dance tracks.

a.1: rampage is an explosive toolish techno tune, that submerges in a dark but atmosferic radiance with heavy pulsating drums and bass lines that engulfes into total deepness. a track frull of atitude. b.1 chase on the flippside is another straight forward thinking production, that overcomes with overdimensional chords and with an intelligent funky sequence that wraps you in again and again.

early support from raresh, fred p. julietta, dana ruh!! after a first year of spellbinding releases, sol asylum returns in 2015 with a fresh various artist’s compilation featuring three finely crafted tracks from the sol asylum crew to kick-start the labels second year. bringing together a family of artists who have been there since the very beginning. starting off with the odd boys danny and damian, we go all the way back to the first release with a brand new remix of broken spell. whisking us away to a parallel universe of this odyssey, this remix is masterly conjured into a percussive exploration of the planet of odd. following the odd ones, julie marghilano unleashes another side of sol asylum with dragon drops. she unveils her known atmospheric soundscapes but with a heavily detailed rhythmic twist, made by experimenting with her field recordings to create a more stripped down sound that shows her range and versatility. last but certainly not least, miss jools calima brings the ep to a triumphant closure like a mystical fog. the elements of the track melt into drowning synths with crackling percussion and the elegantly designed grooves that levitate us steadily through the hypnotic melodies. the percussive strength of each track, while still being diverse links this collaboration of like-minded family members together as a cohesive potion.

creme organization turn to the mysterious ivvvo and lisbon producer lake haze for a new single that comes backed with a remix from label regular legowelt. the single 1 is a hard hitting but fuzzy, misty and hugely spacious house track with deep jacking drums, haunting synths spiralling all around and freaky voices buried deep within. hugely atmospheric and lovably imperfect, it then gets remixed by legowelt. his version of the track flips it on its head, strips back some of the white noise fuzz and reimagines it as a driving techno cut with impish chords, retro arps and high pressure stabs. its a peak time bomb and ensures that this release is a high impact one indeed.

after 2 blinding releases on lies and russian torrents, the italian uprising techno producer domenico crisci lands on fellow italian marco shuttles label eerie with some serious, 909 driven, stripped down techno biz. no matter how pretentious it might sound these are tracks that gravitate quite comfortably in a mills-esque kind of orbit but they somehow also remind of early downwards brutal material. label boss marco shuttle features in the ep with a remix of one of the tracks (lash) bringing the original into a more broken, abstract and dark (of course) territory.

4th and final part of this legendary morris audio compilation series bringing some new (origins sound, manooz) and old faces (volta cab, julien sandre), but keeping the house vibe in different shades. up and coming origins sound (glasgow underground, lost) present a bassy pumping uk house tune whereas volta cab (kolour, hypercolour) goes back the the rave days and invites us to some hardcore heaven. the flipside starts with morris audio buddy julien sandre, who is still some kind of secret underground weapon, even if he already released on argys these days label or on tsuba. finishing off the ep is manooz (alive, extended play) with a great deep and raw house tune. this all is for you, seven daze a week!

nebraska is someone who’s tracks we’ve been loving for a good few years now and finally managed to pin him down for a release here on delusions of grandeur. the uk producer is something of an enigma, and despite some amazing releases on rush hour still remains resolutely underground and seems to keep his releases to a minimum, focusing on keeping the quality high rather than flooding the market with average material. once again, he brings the real deal with three drum-heavy warehouse jams to nice-up the dancefloor. aw-right (mute version) sets the tone with a raw house groove that keeps things stripped to the bare minimum. a bouncing bassline and rattling percussion break help to define the track but it’s the dusty, dubby approach to the mix which really makes the track shine. next up we have warp and weft, a similar sounding track but by dropping the bpm’s nebraska has created a sublime low-slung, bumpy groove to really move to. flipping over we’re treated to the brilliant eighty eights which will have you nodding your head like the churchill’s dog before you can say ‘looped up piano and bass one bar groove repeated for over eight and a half minutes shouldn’t work should it?’

impossibly rare sweet soul & funk from the vaults of miami s bold records (a subsidiary of the mighty t.k. disco label). there s scant information on reid inc as a group but the album boasts some gorgeous soulful melodies from the all female personnel and features stellar string & horn arrangements from miami studio stalwart mike lewis (blowfly, kc & the sunshine band, latimore, fern kinney) & is produced by the mighty clarence reid who has written, recorded & produced too many records to list here (betty wright, wilson pickett, dusty springfield, bobby byrd, gwen mccrae) throughout his 50+ year career. this is a real rarity, a record that fetches top, top dollar ($500 plus) on-line among soul, funk & disco aficionados. -what am i gonna do- has been comped numerous times but this is the first time the whole lp has been re-mastered & re-issued on vinyl (having previously only been re-released on cd in japan) brought to you in conjunction & with the permission of t.k. disco / henry stone music, miami usa.

taking a few steps off it’s usual housy path, metereze presents a fresh new face and a more techno approach to dance music. it is melodie that signs the 4th installment and he is taking it deep into the realms of acid with 3 tracks that not only go well together but they are all meant to make you move in a big way.
acid sunday is as acidic as the name suggests it but in the end it’s the most poetic of the 3. the subtle pads are kinda dreamy but the 303 sounds make it super driving. on the same side we have rhythmico which is dark, percussive and powerful. subtle background bleeps complete the wandering synth that comes and goes but never really seems to go away.
housed on side b justa is a techno monster in its own right. sonically very close to the other two, this is by far the darkest track on this ep. and probably the strongest. techno infused house you may call it or whatever, this is the kind of track that puts you on a serious move whenever, wherever.

originally hailing from slovakia but now based out of berlin just_me has been slowly making waves on the underground having previously released for baile music, 1trax and act natural respectively, as well remixing alongside the likes of hector, laura jones and the great todd terry. not a label to pigeon hole ourselves to any one genre or style of house or techno we are constantly looking to push the boundaries on the music we release with the pattern ep we have done just that! as just_me brings us two original deep, stripped back and dubbed out cuts adding some atmospheric and acidic tinges along the way. on the remix duties we have two very capable artists first up is cocoon s martinez who has shown us his new deeper side with an altogether tougher but minimal groove and feel on pattern 01 and to complete the remixes desolat s fosky brings a much more energetic approach to pattern 02. !

toni be is back on rawthenticity under a new alias - the black tone - with which he is going to showcase a new type of sound, tainted of dub & techno - but keeping also his very own deepness. fulbert is pushing further into atmospheric techno with his remix, stepping out of his comfort zone for this very special occasion. emblematic rawthenticity technicians in disguise for this personate ep.

recorded from rudys homemade studio in hampton virginia before he cut *searching for love* on harvest records around 1983, he did this wonderful modern synth winner. with rudy just having one pass on a reel of this song, we remastered it a little at the super disco hq to give it a brighter feel. sure its pretty lo-fi but the quality of the song writing playing and melodies are more than enough to let is see the joys of a turntable. this is once again a limited press.

-light up- gives the name to this ep, the track builds around a funky bassline but gets deep and intense with dominating synth work leading to huge breakdowns while always keeping the swing. -street knowledge- jacks things up a bit more with a more agress

limited nice price blow out ... disconet was created as subscription program service, which professionally selected and mixed disco music for discotheque djs, mobile discos and radio stations. disconet is called as the granddaddy of all remix services and provided mixed/segued dj dance sets, not only to make the djs job a little bit easier, but to expose club goers to new music. the djs spinning at the height of the disco era were given access to a new creative tool - a different interpretation of current dance tunes to wow club goers. originally, the disconet records were to be issued on a monthly basis which were limited to 1000 - 1500 copies of each volume. the first disconet record was released in october 1977. disconet team at that time was: tom savarese, bobby dj guttadaro and kevin guilmet as well as mike wilkinson. tom, bobby and kevin were dj legends, who had already been awarded with the dj of the year title by billboard. these greatest hits volumes contain their finest work, the original licensed disco edits of all the floor fillers of the time that have been re issued for your listening pleasure. expect many more volumes in the near future.

special nice price blow out ... dukes of chutney is john paul jones and dustin lynn, california born brothers from other cosmic mothers who met surfing over a decade ago. the flavor of the dukes musical chutney is an abstract but balanced mixture of many disciplines. under the moniker tom croose, jones has established a beguiling production touch to various edits and remixes. lynn is an accomplished filmmaker who has collaborated with artist gabriel orozco and directed campaigns for designers alexander mcqueen and corto moltedo.
